DANIEL TRUQUE
CEO
Mr. Truque started his career as a management consultant for McKinsey & Co working across the Operations, Private Equity and Risk Management Practices. He moved into banking when he joined HSBC's Latin American M&A team and later transferred into the Leveraged Finance team, where he worked on several global bond transactions across industries. He transitioned into asset management by joining Bridgewater Associates as a portfolio specialist, helping to manage the relationships with large institutional clients and coordinating internal operations related to client investments. He left Bridgewater to join Market Realist, an online equity research firm, where as Director of Research and Operations he helped expand the team from three to over 120 employees and raising over $10m in venture funding in the process.
Mr. Truque then joined AQR Capital, another large quantitative hedge fund, where he worked in the Global Asset Allocation team coordinating strategy development across asset classes and facilitating strategy reviews for clients. Since leaving AQR, Mr. Truque has been looking into applying his quantitative finance skills coaching emerging investment managers generally in macroeconomic investment strategies. Mr. Truque holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT and Bachelor's degree in the same field from Louisiana State University.
SEBASTIAN URBINA
Managing Partner
Mr. Urbina started his career in software working for Servigistics as a product manager in charge of forecasting and optimization solution modules. He moved to Georgia Institute of Technology to start the Trade, Innovation and Productivity Research Center, focusing on efficiency and operations improvement at an industry and country level. He transitioned to Barkawi Management Consultants, where he led the supply chain analytics works, focusing primarily on simulation, forecasting and optimization projects. Barkawi was acquired in 2018 by Genpact, a large publicly-listed professional services firm, where he became Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Mr. Urbina has focused on a wide variety of industry’s applying quantitative techniques to solve complicated problems. He also started and leads the company’s Forecasting Center of Excellence. Mr. Urbina holds a Master’s degree in Economics from McGill University, and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, all three from Georgia Institute of Technology.
